Photo of me from High School by Hrodulf Photo of me from High School by Hrodulf
This is a photograph of me from high school taken probably around 14 or so years ago. I have no memory of posing for this photograph, but it's probably the best photo of me I have in terms of being interesting, so I decided to make it my identification. The quality is compromised a little because I don't have a scanner and used a digital camera; I'll have to get a scanner eventually and re-upload everything. I didn't take the picture, obviously, and have no idea who did, or how I ended up having a copy of it. The original was damaged slightly in that one corner had the emulsion melted off, probably by a glass of hot liquid being placed on the photograph at some point accidentally. I tried to photo edit the damaged area out digitally, but discovered I had to compromise the quality of the rest of the image to do it, so I cropped it out instead.

Obviously, I don't look like this anymore. Pretend I'm a stellar body and about 14 or so light years away from you.

Thanks, it's an old picture of myself I found; I didn't take it and I just uploaded it to use as my identification, since it was more artistic than other pictures of myself that I have.

Nice lips and eyes. I can see that you would age very well. Then again, I'm a bit bias :)

Yeah, but it's an old photo, so that should be "didn't" instead of "don't." I just randomly remembered this existed and decided to use it for my ID. What's hilarious is my drivers license photo is also out of date to about the same period because after I got it, I never bothered to go back to the DMV to renew it (renewed by mail instead), so they kept using the same photo from the first time I got it. Life is weird sometimes.

Photos are pretty much hit or miss, and it's hard to figure out what makes them good or bad sometimes. I think I look really bad in most of the photos of me I've seen.

Yeah, flash reflection off of glasses tends to ruin it.

Well, now you can learn from it and take off your glasses before being in a photo. It's pointless to waste emotional energy about mistakes like this in the past though; mistakes are probably inevitable, and if you learn from them, they can be useful.

Yeahhh....I like it! I like it very much! You've got a very interesting face, which is really what makes the picture so nice to look at. I love the grain and the contrast. It's that kind of photography that makes black and whites like good ol' Blakey here really stand out from the crowd! :)

That's why I uploaded it, I have more recent pictures, but I thought this one was more interesting from an art perspective, although it's of me as an adolescent. I genuinely have no memory of this photo being taken. It's like the time I found an old family videotape from the 1980s, and in the video, I hold up a drawing of a car I had made that day that I had no memory of drawing. It's really weird to realize that a lot of the stuff that happens to you every day ends up forgotten if it doesn't have a strong emotional involvement attached to it, and you're really not the same person you used to be years ago because you literally forgot who that person was. I suppose that's life, but there's moments when you come face to face with it and it's a little strange.

On a more humorous note, it was funny to continue watching the video and see the same television in the room in 2006 actually *in* the video in 1988. Another sort of weird moment. I guess that may be a sign that we got our money's worth out of that tv . . .
